He destroyed ACORN, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but his tactics also hurt some innocent people in the process. He's bungled alot of these attempted stings as well.

My takeaway from these things is that yes, sometimes people let their guard down when they don't know they're being filmed, but sometimes they also embellish stories to shock or impress.

Each "sting" has to be evaluated on its own merits.
