Gladiators didn't have a choice. College football players do.

It is patently false that these athletes have no choice. They do. They do not have to play college football. The fact that they do not have the choice of playing football anywhere else does not mean they do not have a choice. They do. It is voluntary. They know the terms. The weigh the pros and cons. And when they figure the pros outweigh the cons, they play. The fact that they have no other route to the pros is not the problem of the universities. They didn't cause it and they have no obligation to solve it. If players have an issue with the fact that they can't go from high school to the pros, take it up with the NFL. Stop trying to turn college into the pros using some fragile moralistic argument that doesn't hold up. College has no obligation to serve as the developmental league for the NFL.
