Suggestion>>Realign ACC into 3 divisions, including ND

In order to promote more frequency of ACC non-division opponent games, and avoid an unwieldy conference of 18 or 20 members, I offer this suggestion. Divide into 3 divisions. Include ND. Each team will play 8 conf games per year. This includes playing each member of your own division, plus a pair (H & A) of games from each of the other 2 divisions each year. You will get to play every non-div ACC member 2x in 5 years, once at home and once away.

The biggest challenge with an odd # of divisions is how to send 2 teams to ACC championship game. I can think of 2 options. #1. The highest 2 winning percentage teams, with various tie breakers. #2. Add an ACC semi-finale that includes the 3 Div champs and the highest ranked non-division champ. Neither option is perfect, however, I think we would have the same choices in a 4 division, 16 or 20 member conference scenario.

VT, FSU, UNC
UVa, Mia, NCSt
Clem, Syr, Wake
BC, Lou, Duke
ND, Pitt, GT
