The low buyout and contract....

favorable to Buzz is the cost of where the program had descended to during the last SG years and "down the hall" hire of JJ. One key area of the contract is what constitutes termination for "cause". When a coach serves as his own agent that removes an entire layer of protection in terms of provability and deniability. Just as important, if the courtship breaks down with another school there could be motivation for that school to avoid legal ramifications of a suit for interference with an existing contract. The likelihood of your worst case scenario is remote as all parties have a vested interest in not making the situation worse so "signing away all his leverage" and "no chips left" might be a little extreme. That still doesn't minimize the fact that the situation, further fueled and driven by internet speculation, can damage all the parties involved(some potentially more than others) the longer it festers.
