My personal opinion on it

I am 28 and by the time I was old enough to really dedicate to watching VT football we were already fairly good...granted my first vivid memory was us getting beat by Nebraska in the OB. Maybe I was naive during the 2007-2012 years, but I went into every game with a certain swagger and expectation that we were going to win. I couldn't wait for the games to start because it did not matter who we were playing I thought we were going to win. We always felt like a tough, physical team who would be able to punch you in the mouth. Obviously this led to disappointment, but the confidence from the fanbase was there. Recently, I still attend all the games and have the same excitement, but the expectation level has shrunk. It is not something I consciously do, but it just feels that way. When we played Ohio State, Clemson, etc at home past couple years I had this let's just stay in the game mentality. Maybe we can pull it out, but if not I will go home and wake up the next day. I was still mad and still fired up during the game, but the long term sting decreased. Maybe that is me getting older, but Redskins losses(somehow haha) still sting just as bad. Times have changed in general whether it is economic, different priorities, different culture, etc, but I do believe if the wins come so does the crowd. More winning creates a winning culture and a winning culture makes traveling and paying for games more reasonable and more fun. I want to regain the mentality that made me drive to Atlanta twice with the idea that we were going to beat Alabama, even if that was a false feeling of confidence.

I know this is a long post to get to a singular point, but I don't post often.

PS Lane definitely needs better WIFI, it is crazy that a phone cannot work in 2018.
