Was the hotel situation better in 1998?

When it comes to attendance, we're quick to blame the price & availability of hotels.

But really, was it better in the 1990s, and early 2000s? When every game was a sell-out?

How many hotels did Blacksburg have back then? Three, four?

I typically stay with friends, so I really don't know. But I can't imagine the hotel situation was *that* much better/worse during the sell-out streak.
