Roc and Buzz go back a long time. And Roc has been the best and most productive recruiter on Buzz’ staff as well. Roc wasn’t looking to leave, he isn’t getting too old for the job, and no one was trying to get rid of Roc. This decision was the decision of Roc and Roc alone. Roc was the most secure assistant on the staff.

East Carolina is clearly a step backward and down. And given the money issues that program is facing in the Athletic Department it is also clear that he is taking a pay cut, a pretty substantial one at that, one can reasonably assume.

Roc did a good job here and his absence will be greatly felt, especially in the area of talent procurement, which remains and has always been, the #1 priority of all assistant coaches. It’s ALL about providing players for your boss.
