My 2 cent guess and you can yay/nay/neither: Roc knows Buzz is eyeing this as his last year in Blacksburg, Roc knows he wouldn't be in line for the VT job per se so why stick around, and Roc also knows Buzz would likely retain Chew as associate HC, either at A&M or elsewhere, and why would Roc step back down a rung on a new Buzz staff.

Outside of Roc truly being unhappy or wanting a change, it's the only thing that kinda makes sense.
