I know this wasn't you question, but I'm on a bit of a crusade


to make sure people know it is OK to ask a doctor what something will cost. They won't be offended. In fact, they tend to be quite receptive to taking cost into consideration if you bring it up first.

You don't have a lot of control over the cost of your health care, but you do have some. Use it as best you can BEFORE the service is rendered (that is the only time you have any power in the negotiation).
