The PAC12 pulled out last time.

The PAC12 pulled out because they already had adopted 9 conference games, and the Big Ten has only adopted 8 conference games. It was the idea of Jim Delaney to pick up that 9th game with the Alliance. When the PAC12 dropped it, he then added the ninth conference game.

I don't know how that part of it would be any easier with the Big XII. They too have 9 conference games. Between the two, it would be better for the PAC12 to align with the Big Ten. Much more populous footprint to sell their network into.

The non-revenue sports can handle 1 or 2 games per year a distance away. That could be made to work out. It's not like playing 15 games at great distance.
