Problem always was: SEC schools (LSU and A&M) could easily outbid FSU.

THAT is the root cause of all of this. LSU knew, Texas A&M knew, Jimbo knew, and FSU knew that the SEC and B1G schools could make an offer that the Noles couldn't match. Had the money differences not been so extreme, FSU and its fans would have never disliked Jimbo. He would probably still be there and they would be preparing to build a statue too.

Now ask yourself why programs like LSU and A&M are making SO MUCH MORE money than FSU.
