Start small. Clean out old files before organizing


That way the organizing part is smaller and easier to tackle.

As for disposal, I’ve been influenced by my time in govt contracting. Shredding is good but not great. Burn bags are the way to go if you need security. There is no way to recover information from ashes. But you probably want a closed fire for maximum burn. An outside fire risks having intact pieces float away on the combo of hot air and wind.
