This is from probably 7-8 years ago so this may have changed, but I had a co worker who "deleted" his facebook account. About a month a month later he decided he'd sign back up with a more streamlined profile (fewer friends, less personal info, fewer pics/posts, etc) and low and behold his old profile was waiting for him when he "reactivated" his supposedly deleted profile. It was a real eye opener
