Back in the 80s we did a blind taste test

of all the beers you could get for less than $1.50 a six pack at Krogers. That's under 25 cents a beer.

There were a lot of them. Milwaukee's Best, Wiedemanns, Lone Star, Natty Boh, Carling Black Label, Pabst, etc.

The winner of the blind taste test was "BEER" -- the generic Kroger brand. With a yellow can and black lettering that said "BEER" and had the Kroger cost-cutter logo of a pair of scissors cutting something.
