Unreal. I think I've actually seen this kid play (I live in Denmark now)

They have an American football league here in Denmark, but if you were wondering where the Bush League is, it's here. Pretty low level of play overall, but it makes for some dang entertaining games, and the Danes are surprisingly into it. Their "Super Bowl" is called the Mermaid Bowl here, played in October every year. I went last year: it was played in a driving downpour on a cold Danish night, but was a fun time and they had several thousand enthusiastic fans in attendance.

The kid UVA just signed plays for a team called the Aarhus Tigers. I saw them play against the team in my neighborhood here in Copenhagen, the Gold Diggers (yes, that's their actual team name) last year. Just a defensive struggle, final ended up like 19-17. There are, surprisingly, several American players in this league. Last year, the Gold Diggers had a safety who played for Wake Forest (Desmond Cooper) and a RB who played at NW Missouri State. This year, they have a WR from some D2 school in New Jersey. The other "pro" team here Copenhagen had a RB from some lower-division college in Arkansas.

From my observation, they have almost no talented Danish skill guys here (QB, RB, WR, DB). Any D1 college back or receiver would just shred these teams. But what they do have is BIG dudes. Lots of the OL and DL here are just massive. The kid UVA just got is probably a legit 6'6, 260. But he's slow. They have him at DL here, but no way he plays that in the ACC. At best, he's an OT, but probably a guard. Anyway, hope it works out for him and it's kinda interesting that UVA is recruiting European players. Just from my layman's observation here, though, few if any of these kids would stand a chance of playing D1 in the States, let alone in the ACC.
