Actually thats flawed logic
This debate has been going on for years. Its absurd to think that success for UVa somehow helps us, just as its absurd to think that coke roots for pepsi. Each and every recruit we want who ends up at UVa only hurts. So when they are good they are watering down our talent pool. I remember those days. In fact I remember the days when we couldn't recruit with them. Does the pendulum swinging back that way somehow help? Course not.
As for the other states you mentioned, the success of those blue blood programs has nothing to do with their in state rival doing well. Bama would be Bama regardless of whether Auburn goes 0-11 or not. In fact Bama is better off for Auburn to suck so that Auburn can't compete with them in recruiting. Just like us and the Hoos.
