If you live in Richmond, VCU is very close to the top. Nothing worse then a team that used to have very few followers now be the talk of the whole town. Not to mention, most of their fans are hipsters that know zero basketball at all...very difficult to be around.

I don't get how Duke is not 1 though (probably because there are so many fans). I have guys I went to VT with that will cheer for Duke. I am like, are you serious? You get that you didn't go to Duke, right? Everyone had childhood teams they liked (Michigan for me was my childhood team for some reason, probabaly because they were rivals to the 2 teams I hated the most: Ohio St and Notre Dame), but once I became Hokie, I had zero interest in any other team.
