I'll throw out the irritating (to wrestling purists) but probably truest statement:

Attendance increases when you can add casual or (shudder) non fans to the equation, and you need to think of ways to do that that are outside the box.

Having former wrestlers in the Corp of Cadets wrestle during "halftime" was a great idea a couple of years ago. Brought in a lot of casual and new fans. Do that again and expand the idea. Go over the top and even have student drawings to compete in those fat sumo costumes. Anything! Just gin up interest in the night as an event ... and oh, yeah, watch our great wrestlers too.

Here's a parallel: Right now, DC is going crazy with tens of thousands of people in the streets during every Caps game. Obviously, success is making that happen. But it's also the best party in town, and a lot of the people in the street are just there for the party atmosphere.

Add more incentives even tied to other sports or non-sporting events. Every student who comes to a match is entered for a drawing, maybe several drawings. A free laptop, football season tickets, an airline ticket. There's no shame in marketing harder. Once they're in Cassell once, some will come back just for the wrestling. Today's fans - of almost every sport - expect to be entertained and wooed in multiple ways.
