I want to give individual sports the stage in regular season.

Football Post Season Bowls overshadow much of the basketball regular season. Pushing it back helps basketball. Baseball can benefit by having the stage to itself in May, June, and July. Plus starting in mid-March instead of mid-February opens up more participation in northern states.

I would argue that the athletes who receive athletic scholarships are being paid. Those are worth $50,000 in some cases. And the stipend is now a good thing. If they push much harder, they will have to start paying taxes on that because scholarships would go away. They would pay their own tuition and board from their salary. Right now I don't think they have to pay taxes on the scholarships.
