Among Big 12 schools, TCU has a huge transportation advantage

Being located in the DFW area makes it more feasible for TCU to play in the SEC, Pac 12 or even the ACC than it does for several other Big 12 programs. You can fly charter jets close to most places for football. But travel to Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Baylor and the Kansas schools may involve more ground transportation than even traveling to West Virginia via Pittsburgh because commercial transportation is limited and/or the campus is remote from the airport.

As a consequence, when you look beyond Texas and OU, TCU has as good a shot at being admitted to another conference as anyone in the Big 12.
