I've heard Boeheim recommend Atlanta.
I'm not sure he's against the South as much as he doesn't like Greensboro for some reason. He wants to be in the big cities.
The ACC started playing the men's basketball tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum in 1967, and it still is centrally located within the footprint, as is Charlotte.
New York can be accommodated by trading with the Atlantic10 for Barclays Center. The Big East won't want to trade Madison Square Garden because they think MSG makes their league. I'm not sure that's true, but in their mind it is. The ACC can successfully showcase itself up and down the east coast, not just in one place. No other league can do this.
The Big East of the 1980s is what Jim Boeheim memorializes. But that's gone. That's long gone. And I've heard Beoheim say it. [Post edited by HOO86 at 05/19/2018 4:31PM]
