I just realized I didn't answer your first question........................


I still have my pilot's license, but I haven't flown in a number of years. The Blacksburg airport is where I learned to fly during the fall and winter quarters of my senior year at VT, with the USAF picking up the tab! I had soloed by mid October and had my private pilots license by February. When you graduate from UPT, the FAA automatically upgrades you license to Commercial Pilot, with multi-engine and instrument ratings.
