But in the end, I get the feeling that while he wanted to stay in state and very much liked Virginia Tech, he could never shake the idea that it wasn't as "big time" as he felt he deserved. Possibly some feelings of "well, if Ricky Slade can go to PSU, why can't I go to PSU.. just because he got there first, I'm just as good, I can compete" were there as well vs the idea at VT of being able to waltz in and have the job (which isn't necessarily true).

In the end, he did what he felt was best for him. I don't wish him bad, but I hope he has a really lousy night in Blacksburg in about 28 months.
