Interesting that Hampton (HBCU) is leaving the MEAC

which is a HBCU conference. I wonder if that means the school will look diversify its student enrollment more or continue as a HBCU. I believe Tennessee State was the only DI HBCU not to be a member of either DI HBCU conferences (MEAC and SWAC).

I knew North Alabama was planning to join the Atlantic Sun and I think be a football only member in the Ohio Valley. Given that North Alabama was a DII powerhouse in football and Liberty receiving a waiver to switch to the FBS subdivision, it will be interesting to see if North Alabama has any aspirations to switch to the FBS subdivision too or content remaining in the FCS subdivision. Something else that will be interesting to see is whether the Atlantic Sun decides to sponsor football and what impact that could have on Liberty. Currently the Atlantic Sun has the following members that sponsor football:

Liberty - FBS Indy
North Alabama - Big South in 2019
Jacksonville - Pioneer Football League (non-scholarship conference)
Kennesaw State - Big South
Stetson - Pioneer Football League

I believe the NCAA only requires a conference to have 6 members before it can receive an automatic bid to the DI-FCS Playoffs.
