How this town was named Arlington (MA) ...


It was the town of Menontomy (With more dead in early days of Rev War than Concord or Lexington or anyplace) ... then named the town of West Cambridge in the early 1800s and

In 1867, the Town changed its name to Arlington in honor of the fallen heroes of West Cambridge during the Civil War who were buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
