That’s a good description of the situation. The program was started by


Dave Braine in order to address Title IX issues. Scot was working in the equipment room and had both baseball and softball playing experience. When he accepted the position he had a request that if it did not work out, he would like to have his old job back.

He’s had some good teams over the years as well as not so good. Softball has been the sport that VT has used to stay in compliance with Title IX over the years, with the exception being the women’s golf program.

It appears to many on this board that it’s time for a change. Perhaps it is. Scot’s no fool; he is well aware of the issues. And, you are definitely correct that Whit needs to make a decision as to whether to maintain the status quo or move on. It looks to me at this point that Scot may be back for at least one more year.
