I'd say they were generally a step below OSU and Michigan

Largely because PSU lacked that conference affiliation. Once PSU got into the Big 10, that was supposed to be the magic boost to get them into that level. Instead they ended up mired in mediocrity for about a decade and a half. But they're back and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

We better hope Tennessee doesn't revive itself anytime soon. If they do, our program could be in BIG trouble long term.
