Let's break this down...

"The game sucks since the 80s"

Are you saying it sucks because it's unwatchable? Because the highest viewership in the history of the game says otherwise

Are you saying it sucks because of the product on the floor? Because leaving out the 90s and 00s means leaving out Michael Jordan, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Shaq, Kobe, Tim Duncan, LeBron, Curry, KD, etc. Which can universally be agreed upon is much better than the product on the floor in 70s/80s

Maybe it sucks because you don't like the style of play? I may not have an argument there, but I hear they may be bringing back peach baskets and making players unable to dribble the basketball, which I'm sure will be exhilarating

"Plus all you see is rent a champs"

I'm gonna pretend to know what this means for half a second, and I'd like to know which NBA championship team you have in mind that wasn't "rented"? Make sure not to include any of the Lakers teams of the 70s/80s in your answer

"Team up to get one"

Uh... because you have to. There's been one NBA championship in the last 20 years that didn't have two bona fide superstars on their team, and that's only as far back as I care to research. (That team was the Dallas Mavericks).

Free agency wasn't a thing until 1988. And maybe that's what your whole argument stems from? Maybe you're of the opinion that players should be required to stay with whatever team drafted them or traded for them for the entirety of their career?

Maybe you think the workforce in America would be better if employers drafted who they wanted and you had to stay with them throughout your career?
