I think it might depend on the future need of live TV content for ACC NetWk

LAX is growing in popularity, but TV Ratings are far behind Baseball & Softball.

Data from last year's Spring Season:
- 2017 NCAA Women Softball Tourney 26 games averaged 458K viewers/game
- 2017 SEC Championship (LSU vs Arkansas) 436K viewers
- 2017 ACC Championship (FSU vs UNC) 154K viewers
- 2017 Men NCAA LAX Semifinals (Towson vs Ohio State; Denver vs Maryland) 260K viewers
- 2017 Women NCAA Championship (BC vs Maryland) 85K Viewers

So the question of will VT ever have Men's Lax? I say it's possible in >10 years:
- The sport is growing in VA, NC and the Northeast (feeder states for VT states)
- The ACC is viewed as one of the two premier conferences (BIG with Maryland, Hopkins, Ohio State, is the other) ACC has a lot of tradition - even though they lost Maryland, they gained Syracuse and ND.
- Revenue dynamics need to change, but if VT can make additional money from TV, to offset fielding a team - they might make a jump. Which means they have to also invest in a women sport like field hockey or crew to meet Title IX.
- As TSL has written many times, the investment in adding LAX and a corresponding women sport would be viewed as taking budget from other sports - so it would be both a big financial and political hurdle.

Separately, SEC baseball and softball are huge for Spring sport TV ratings, so I suspect that they don't have LAX on their radars at all.
