If it was Eberle's first day, I would have left her in like Thomas...

did but it was her 2nd game and in the 6th inning when she began to show signs of fatigue and was falling behind each batter. Pitt began to get their offense going with all those hits between 1B and 2B. She even walked a few batters. Pitt pulled their starter when she was falling behind. Maybe we would've lost no matter what Thomas did but I would've brought in Dail some point between the 6 and 7th inning. At some point, a coach has to show confidence in his other pitchers. If Dail would've finished out the game, who knows how much that would've boosted her confidence going forward in the ACCSBT and 2019. If Dail would've blown the game, then it would've been the wrong decision but we'll never know because Scot didn't have the confidence to bring either Dail or Rochard into the game. I thought Eberle pitched as well as she has all season the first 12 innings of the tournament. I think she had a no hitter through the 5th inning or beginning of the 6th. Like I said earlier, that 7th inning pretty summed up the 2018 season, close but not good enough to finish out the game. Maybe next season, this team begins to win those close games and we're the team coming from behind in the late innings. Go Hokies!
