I am not completely against piping as long as it is used as a trim
However, I could never figure out the purpose of having the white piping run up and across the shoulders. While the orange piping ran across the top of the chest and down the sides. Was it intended to create a specific design? To cover where 2 pieces of fabric were sewn together (hence the patchwork reference)? Plus, IMHO the piping lead to this fashion faux pas. It may even be worse than VT's 2010 white pro combat uniforms with the feathers (or a crown) on either shoulder.
