I used to think I would rather take any physical ailment - just don't take my mind. And for the most part that is still true, but I also think that nature knows what it is doing as you slowly stop realizing what's going on.

I say this after watching a neighbor going thru ALS in his fifties. That is evil. Being fully functional mentally, but not able to do ANYTHING - even communication is almost impossible now. At least when the mind is going too you don't realize what you can't do.

Treat every day like it's your last and hope it happens quickly.
