Speed plus talent equals success
Bob Hayes and Renaldo Nehemiah were track stars who became NFL football stars. Track stars can be taught by competent receiver coaches. Nehemiah was a hurdler, without football skills, and became a star receiver. Hayes was a sprinter who became a football star. Beck is a football player who happens to be a track star - that's a major leg-up in my book. He won't be learning football as much as he will improve his receiving skills, if in the event that it's a deficit - we don't know that. Speed kills - reference the U for that one. I'm very glad that he's a Hokie and I look forward to his becoming a star at VT. David Wilson was our last track star/footballer and he was a first rounder in the draft. I'm looking forward to the Cole Beck opportunity - good luck young man.
