They lost game 1 in 9 innings. Scored a lot of runs including the long ball. Second game was closer losing 3-1. Very clean game with multiple double plays by both teams.

Thoughts? Duke is well coached and very solid fundamentally. They can execute the bunt and use it when the percentages call for it. Infielders are very good fielders.

The right fielder cannot be run on. She has a cannon for an arm. Second baseman made multiple hard to handle plays. Longwood did run successfully on Dukes catcher.

Duke used four pitchers and they were all good and young. This team will be good for years to come.

They were stronger than Longwood but at key moments had their pitchers get behind in the count and gave up hits & RBIs.

We definitely have a shot here but they won’t give it to us. Will need to score at least 3 runs is my guess.
