It can't be for McClung. His level of competition was incredibly difficult

Gate City played against 3 of the top 150 schools in the country by Maxpreps rankings this season and McClung had a field day. He also had a field day against Lee and a solid defensively talented Radford team in the playoffs. He dominated Iverson's event. McClung has had a legitimate 6 events this year against incredible completion, and 4 of those 6 were against high level competition and the kid just took the games over. It is what it is. Gate City didn't just play small SWVA local schools all year for this past season. They played 4 or 5 out of state schools to include NC, TN, KY all represented. There is simply no way college recruiters could not know that information. Based on that, I suspect the reason McClung wasn't recruited higher was based on other factors (measurable, overall perceived talent, etc). I also respect Buzz and his judgement, but.........no coach is perfect and they sometimes get it wrong, but.......they would get it right at a far, far, far higher level more times than not compared to us fans. Buzz has forgot 1,000 times more about Hoops than I have ever learned, but..........I just have a strong sense or feeling on this one that not just Buzz, but many of them have made a mistake on McClung. He's going to be a star. He's simply to good of player to not succeed.
