Back in the lean years of Tech athletics
Basketball/ football star John Rivers was a great example of a phenom who’s legendary status preceded his every step
Rivers came to a Tech as a star basketball player. he was all that on the Cassell Colesium court. But also could catch a football, something Beamer’s struggling football teams badly needed.
Rivers ended up being a great two sport athlete for the Hokies. But his greatest skill was always as a basketball player
Beck is fast and runs the football. Let him do that in the model of Forrest Gump
Let’s not burden him with some rediculous Hollywood multi sport caricature
