The question isn't do you want Outlaw's shooting or not
It's can you handle the defensive possessions when he's on the floor in order to real the reward on the offensive end
On a team of bad defenders (with Seth Allen and Zach LeDay being two of the worst defenders) Ty Outlaw was by far the worst...not just from a one-on-one perspective, but he continually lost his man or was out of position stressing the gaps of every other defender on the floor.
You better hope he hits those threes, because he's likely giving up 2+ on the other end
So even if he shoots 50% from 3 and gives up an average 1.7 points per possession, you're in a .2 point hole for every possession he's on the floor
It's tough to handle...and VT was able to do it when they were in a pinch a season ago, but they also had two other scorers who were two of the better ones that have suited up at VT in the last decade
