Disconnected the cable box today and returned it. I'm now a cord cutter.


Thanks be to the Lounge, I tried out YouTubeTV. Fairly impressed. Internet + YouTube TV is about $80/mo cheaper than Internet + Cable was.

Surprising thing was the people at the Cable office. I was fully expecting them to give me the hard sell to keep me as a $180/mo customer instead of a $60/mo customer. But all they really said was "Yeah, we're getting a lot of that. Not sure why anyone has cable or satellite anymore." There was a very mild push to upgrade my speed and data limit, but then they looked up my past usage and said nevermind.

Not sure if they were deviating from the corporate script on what you say to customers, or are cable companies actually realizing they aren't much more than internet providers anymore?
