Some people have way too much money


Last night, the charity auction I work with ended. It's an online auction with snipe protection -- any bid in the last five minutes of an item extends that one item's deadline an extra five minutes. One item we had was an umpire jersey from the 2016 World Series -- the one won by the Cubs -- signed by the umpire. Two Cubs fans got into a bidding war that went an hour beyond the original close time. End bid:

$6,165.

For a signed umpire jersey. UMPIRE. Not even one of the players!! Unreal.
