Simmie Cobbs at Indiana was a better overall wide receiver and he too went undrafted.
The NFL is a different beast and what you need to get drafted is different from how we view recruits or even football talent here on a collegiate message board. If you don't have the speed to play at the next level then you will struggle. Doesn't mean you can't make it but it means the first few years for you will be a grind until you carve out a role.
The fact that Phillips missed much of the spring and couldn't participate at the combine did him few favors. He needed to impress but he wasn't healthy. Such is life.
