They failed in properly assessing Glaze, and now whose to say they're not failing again with Smiley in a different way. They have a track record of erroneous assessments to prove it. If they don't feel these guys fit their system, then fine. Then recruit the athletes that are needed to maintain those positions. Except they're failing to do that as well.

I think what happens is that Wiles will simply force one or more of the new DE's, like Porcher, to move to DT to make up for the recruiting failures. I don't share your optimism that we'll have a flurry of qualified DT's commiting to us in the end. History over the past few years suggests otherwise and my review of all the local state and surrounding state DT talent suggests no one else is remotely favoring VT.
