Glaze was brought aboard and it turned out he wasn't good enough (OK, this could point towards poor eval). But then we're turning Smiley away at the door because he's not good enough and you find that to be a flaw in eval as well? I mean, what are we supposed to do? Bring in Smiley and let him flame out in two years (not saying he would... but if we don't think he's good enough, why praytell would we bring him aboard to ultimately fail?).

We're in solid shape with Adarious Jones. DT is one position where guys can blow up late in the process and we may be letting things play out for the next class's SR season. I'm betting we sign two DTs. Hopefully Jones and then likely some guy none of us here has on the radar yet. It's only April. I do agree that we are in a bit of a hole at DT right now. But I'd rather bring in guys that actually have a chance to be good enough. Sure, others may be higher on Smiley than us... but perhaps it's the others who aren't evaluating him correctly (let's not forget that Glaze had a lot of other interest too... we weren't alone in overrating him).
