UVA moving forward with plans for demolition of University Hall

Not Conference Realignment news, but posters here have asked me a couple of times what UVA would be doing with U-Hall. This is sad news to me as a historic preservationist at heart and also because of attending many great basketball games in U-Hall over many years including as a student. That is the house that Ralph Sampson built.

I was hoping UVA would renovate the facility and use it for another purpose. I also grew up with, competed at as a kid, and used the 25 yard swimming pool next door to U-Hall that is also being demolished called Onesty Hall.

I'm not sure how often the Hokies played in U-Hall because for years UVA-VT basketball games moved around the state at neutral sites. But perhaps some.
