Our avg run differential in 20 conference games is almost -2 rpg.

Small sample size obviously, but everything is in college baseball. I think every team with that kind of run differential at this point in the MLB season has a record as bad or worse than 7-13 (our ACC record).

Point being: It's tempting to look at that 4-10 record in close(-ish) games and think, "That's a little unlucky. Probably should be more like a 6-8 split." But our expected conference record with that run differential is something like 6.75-13.25, so...I dunno, I would hesitate to make too much of these heartbreaking outcomes. It's probably not an indictment of the culture or some kind of glaring warning sign that this staff can't pull off the rebuild. It's mostly just a calamitous bullpen.

If they're still throwing away games like this in 2020, then it might be a thing.
