Agree, but Temple was trying (and ECU was succeeding)...


Little known fact: VT was the only Big East school that voted against throwing Temple out. I think it was because - at the time - VT and Temple were the only two schools who were football-only.

And I'm trying to figure out why I care so much about ECU. I have no ties to them: even remotely. I guess it's because I've never met an ECU fan that I didn't like, or one that wasn't passionate. Although I would appreciate it if they would stop beating VT on the field.

I agree that they are on the outside looking in. I think their best chance is the Big 12. Which, while unstable and geographically stupid, would benefit from adding ECU. ECU, like WVU, is an SEC-ish team. Not in an urban center, no pro sports, great fan base. I know, the stadium isn't all that. But given the opportunity, it might me. They just remind me of VT circa 1978. All the potential, just waiting for the opportunity. Which might never come.
