Excellent point! I had forgotten ECU/Big East snub...

ECU would have been a terrific member of the Big East Football Conference. In the end, much better than several other schools (like Temple, though I feel sorry for them as well). They would also - in the long run - have been better members than BC and Syracuse, though those schools had bigger names for contract negotiations.
