My sentiments track right along with yours on the schools you mention. It is sad to see programs like ECU and Cincy earning peanuts while Louisville cashes-in. The current revenue model will not permit a fifth North Carolina school (ECU) to rise to P5 status.
The future could be entirely different, who knows. If revenue models and unfettered realignment would permit it, I'd love to see the ACC dump Louisville, Syracuse, Pitt and BC and add ECU, South Florida, Central Florida, and some exotic outsider like Tennessee or... Maryland!!! Our northern delegation is so lame that ESPN actually signed up the Ivy League to sell ads in that neighborhood. I love the idea of those huge, and growing, student bodies in Florida. They dwarf the typical ACC school. So much potential.
I also harbor a little sympathy for San Diego State and, to a lesser degree, San Jose State. Huge cities, so little support.
