I agree there will be some underground work

but that's where it was before. It used to be that a coach could not initiate contact with a recruit but the recruit could. So schools would go to the travel coach and ask them to tell the recruit to call them. This was "underground" but widely accepted and not illegal. Now at least it is illegal. It will stop the early offers to some extent but I'm sure there will be some winks sent the way of recruits teams are interested in. It's really hard to regulate since it's mostly the honor system. I've witnessed several infractions from Virginia schools specifically but no one says anything about it. I can see some schools getting in trouble though if a kid says something on social media which will inevitably happen. My kid has been committed for a little while and and has another couple years left before going to UVa to play. We enjoyed the process to some extent but recognize it gets very stressful for girls and their families so young. It also take some pressure off the travel coaches.
