JJ starts @FSU, but RWs play gives JJ a shorter leash

RW is not going to unseat JJ based on one spring game, nor should he. RW would have to look pretty much like Paxton Lynch to usurp the starting role before the season starts. Not gonna happen.

No head coach worth his paycheck is going to give a transfer QB the job over an incumbent starter in a competitive pre-season QB race. Its not unlike a prize fight. Nobody is going to give you the champ's title unless you DOMINATE him. Close fight goes to the champ every time.

If Fuente were to start RW vs FSU and lose, it raises a lot of eyebrows. Nobody is going to question starting JJ however. This is all the more reason Fuente keeps his practices close to the vest. It's less about giving opponents info, and more about not giving the press and fan base ammo to question his decision making.

However, if JJ starts and picks up where he left off end of last season...ie..struggling, I think we could see RW in short order. I think that's the most RW can realistically accomplish. Starting out of the gate is not gonna happen.
