National awards in bball are VERY hard to come by, so it's a valid beef

Starting in 2002, things got much more stringent with the 'national award' requirement. Ostensibly, less than 20-25 players out of ~4500 Div-1 basketball players meet this requirement every year.

Allan Bristow never sniffed a national award or All-American status, yet his jersey is in the rafters. But you can't take down a dude's jersey, and you can't have subjective requirements going forward, so IIWII.
